LEXINGTON, Kentucky, August 3, 2023 – Engi-Mat has promoted Claudia Goggin to CEO and board member. Claudia replaces Brian Mackey who served as CEO between 2017 and 2023.

“Claudia has done an outstanding job in her roles as COO and CTO of the Company where she has fostered a culture of operational excellence. We are thrilled she has agreed to take the CEO job. Her leadership skills and experience, coupled with her familiarity with Engi-Mat, will enable her to take our company to the next stage of growth building on the momentum of our recent large commercial nanopowder orders”, said Tom Saponas, Chairman of the Board of Engi-Mat.

Within months of joining Engi-Mat in 2018, Claudia led the successful completion of a key technical project for the manufacturing scale-up of optical ceramics, including achieving the ISO 9001 certification. Over the past five years, she worked to build a strong production and technical team and led significant improvements to Engi-Mat’s products and processes. Claudia has also been instrumental in building commercial opportunities leveraging her significant previous experience in materials technology research and development that enabled her rapid and deep understanding of Engi-Mat’s products and capabilities. As CEO, Claudia intends to leverage her experience at the Company to build out new business opportunities. “We have demonstrated world-leading performance for our Bi-2212 powders for high field magnets, and we expect that to be a growing market for Engi-Mat” she stated.

Prior to Engi-Mat, Claudia served Lexmark in various technical leadership roles for 17 years. Her roles included Group Manager, Cartridge & Materials Technology R&D, leading large teams in the U.S. and the Philippines in developing material technologies for all Lexmark products. She subsequently served as Worldwide Manager, Products & Process Quality Assurance, with responsibility for product and process quality for all hardware, software, and firmware of emerging Lexmark products.

Claudia holds an advanced Chemical Engineering degree (Diplôme d’Ingénieur) with a specialization in Formulation Chemistry from ITECH-Lyon in France, a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida, and an MBA from the University of Kentucky/University of Louisville. She had 10 issued patents prior to joining Engi-Mat.
